Honor Credit Union entering the upper peninsula

ST. JOSEPH, MI (October 16, 2013) — Honor Credit Union is excited to announce a partnership with SIR Federal Credit Union.  SIR Federal Credit Union, based in the upper peninsula, selected Honor Credit Union to align their resources with, for the purpose of benefiting members of both credit unions.  Honor has always held its members financial success at the core of its mission, and SIR shares this belief.  The two credit unions are both dedicated to providing solutions for financial success and reinvesting in their local communities.  With their core missions already aligned, it was a great opportunity to combine their resources.

SIR Federal Credit Union currently has three  locations in the Upper Peninsula: Negaunee, Marquette, and Gwinn.  Joining the two successful credit union’s resources together will allow for increased financial opportunity for members, as well as superior member service.  The level to which the combined credit unions will be able to reinvest in the communities they serve will only continue to increase.

Upon regulatory approval and a positive member vote from SIR Federal Credit Union members, SIR will become a part of Honor Credit Union.  The partnership will result in a $550 million dollar organization with over 51,000 members across the State of Michigan.  The parties were advised by Michael M.
