Houston Chapter of Credit Unions Bowling Tournament Raises Needed Funds for Children’s Charities
HOUSTON, TX (March 25, 2013) – The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions continues to raise funds for children’s charities. On Saturday, March 23, 2013, twenty seven (27) credit unions and business partners participated in the Chapter’s annual Bowling Tournament at Copperfield Bowl in Houston, TX. Over one hundred and thirty (130) people participated in the event, raising $10,022 for children’s charities.
The tournament winners were:
- 1st Place – Hughes, Watters, & Askanase, LLP (Team 1)
- 2nd Place – Harris County FCU
- 3rd Place – First Service CU (Team 2)
- Gutter Champ – Maria Rosas of Energy Capital CU (Team 2)
Lori Cooke, Marketing Director at Houston Texas Fire Fighters FCU and event organizer said “this is our 7th year putting on the Bowling Tournament for the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions and each year, we’ve been a little more successful than the last.” All participants enjoyed the tournament knowing the funds support children in need. Nikki Moore from Space City CU stated “this year’s bowling tournament had a wonderful turn out and the event itself was very fun. Well done – $10,022 is amazing.”
The Bowling Tournament is one of many efforts the Chapter supports the community and enhances the quality of life in the Greater Houston Area. The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions provides a collaborative environment for credit union professionals and volunteers to receive education, leadership development, and grow credit union community influence. The Houston Chapter is comprised of over 100 credit unions in the Houston metropolitan area.
