CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 8, 2022) — The Harvard University Employees Credit Union (HUECU) held its 82nd Annual Meeting at the Harvard Faculty Club on Tuesday, March 30th. It was the first in-person Annual Meeting since the pandemic forced a virtual meeting in 2020 & 2021.

Members in attendance heard from Credit Union officers and directors about the 2021 performance of HUECU. Speakers included Chairman George White, President and CEO Craig Leonard, Senior Vice President and CFO Katie Armstrong, and Board Director & Governance Committee Chair Thomas Lucey.

After reports from the Chairman, President and CEO, as well as CFO, there was a special vote to approve changes to HUECU’s bylaws. The proposed changes received the necessary votes for approval and were passed.

Also at the meeting, Thomas Lucey announced the results of the Board of Directors election, which took place earlier in the day. The election was for five seats on the HUECU Board of Directors. Four incumbents were elected and will be joined by a new board member, Mary Ann O’Brien who recently retired as Director of Human Resources Planning and Program Management at Harvard University.
“Harvard University Employees Credit Union (HUECU), is a vibrant, mission-driven financial institution with over $1B in assets and over 50,000 owner/members. Many thanks to all who voted for me. I’m looking forward to working with a great staff and board to fulfill an important mission and serve the needs of the Harvard community,” said O’Brien.

In all, the elected directors are April Edrington, Harman Kaur, Mary Ann O’Brien, Mary Straub, and Shahar Ziv. All directors bring years of experience and enthusiasm to the Board, and HUECU is excited to work with them over the course of their three-year term. HUECU also thanks Ann Dexter who stepped down from the board, after 6 years of service to the Credit Union.

Finally, the HUECU 2021 Annual Report was shared at the Annual Meeting which includes business highlights and financial results highlights from the last year.
