Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually in October.  Each year, the international event affords the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union difference.  This year’s ICU Day theme combines the traditional gift of platinum for 70th anniversaries, a play on the saying “every cloud has a silver lining” and a celebration of the platinum-lined differences and impact credit union and other financial cooperatives have made and continue to make for their members and communities.

Heritage Federal Credit Union celebrates this event in order to thank the members of Heritage Federal Credit Union for their trust and loyalty.

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide an effective and viable alternative to for-profit financial institutions for more than 235 million members at more than 68,000 credit unions in 109 countries worldwide.  They exist to serve their members, providing a safe place to save money and access affordable loans.  Locally, Heritage Federal Credit Union offers financial products and services to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Vanderburgh, Warrick, or Posey Counties in Indiana and Henderson County in Kentucky, or has an immediate family member who does.  As of October 2018, Heritage Federal Credit Union has over $595 million in assets, serves more than 59,400 members, and operates ten branches, nine in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Posey counties in Indiana and one branch in Henderson County in Kentucky.
