Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union distributes donations from the Steve Jones Legacy Fund

LOWELL, MA (November 6, 2019) — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is proud to announce the 2019 recipients of the Steve Jones Legacy Fund are; Cooperative Credit Union Association ¬– Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Bed for a Child, Greater Lowell Family YMCA, Town of Chelmsford Scholarship Committee, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, and Lowell Festival Foundation, and Whistler House Museum of Art.

The Credit Union established the Steve Jones Legacy Fund through its We Share A Common Thread Foundation in memory of Steve. Steve was a 20-year veteran of the Credit Union, and was well-known throughout the Greater Lowell community for his tireless commitment to numerous organizations. He passed away unexpectedly in September 2016. Representatives from each of the recipient organizations joined the Credit Union at the UMass Lowell River Hawks hockey game on Friday, October 25, 2019 to honor and remember Steve, who had an extraordinary impact on the local community.

“Steve’s genuine compassion, friendly nature and commitment to so many organizations in the Merrimack Valley will forever be missed, but his legacy lives on,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “The Legacy Fund allows us to continue supporting the nonprofit organizations that embodied Steve’s core values and whose work has made a difference in our communities.” The Credit Union will continue to distribute funds on an annual basis.
