Jeanne D’Arc’s Michelle Silveira wins YMCA Jonesy Award
LOWELL, MA (May 25, 2018) — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Michelle Silveira, was recently awarded the Greater Lowell Family YMCA’s “Jonesy Award” in recognition of her contributions as a YMCA Board Member.
The YMCA instituted the award in 2017 in memory of Steve Jones. Mr. Jones was a dedicated board member and supporter of the Greater Lowell Family YMCA, and was well known for his community involvement throughout the entire Merrimack Valley area. He was also a 20-year member of the Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union team, serving as the Vice President of Community Development.
Each year, the YMCA selects a board member, who best helps the YMCA achieve its mission, to be the recipient of the award.
“Michelle has been on our Board for one year and has collected books for our Summer Learning Loss program, introduced me to Hidden Battles, who we now collaborate with, has raised money and opened many doors in our communities,” said Kevin Morrissey, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Lowell Family YMCA. “These are a few of the reasons she was chosen. She truly has been a huge asset to our Y, truly deserving.”
“It’s an honor to be the recipient of the Jonesy Award and to be on the Board of the Greater Lowell Family YMCA,” said Silveira. “The YMCA meant so much to Steve, and I appreciate the great work the Y does to bring quality services to Lowell and surrounding towns.”
