Keesler Federal voted best in People’s Choice Awards

BILOXI, MS (July 26, 2018) — Keesler Federal Credit Union has been voted as the first-place winner in both the Best Bank/Credit Union and Mortgage Lender categories of the 2018 Sun Herald People’s Choice Awards.

According to the Sun Herald, the People’s Choice Awards are awarded “as voted by the people” who live and work in South Mississippi. The selected businesses, people and products are represented as the best and the brightest. They are the industry leaders and Gulf Coast favorites that help make the community what it is.

Keesler Federal has consistently been recognized as “people’s choice” in recent years as favorite Bank/Credit Union or Mortgage Company, having won first place in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Keesler won second place last year and this year (2018) marks the fifth year of taking first place. This year Keesler Federal also placed second in the Best Financial/Investment Planning category.

“It’s very gratifying to be voted best by the people who live and work in our community,” said Keesler Federal CEO Andy Swoger. “These are our members, the people we serve and the people we call our friends and neighbors. There’s no higher praise for us than to receive this special recognition.”

The 2018 Sun Herald People’s Choice Awards garnered over 377,000 votes from 22,000 people along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Sun Herald newspaper serves the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The People’s Choice recognition comes on the heels of Keesler Federal being ranked as one of “America’s Best In State Credit Unions” by Forbes Magazine.

In its inaugural ranking of America’s best, Keesler Federal is the only credit union in Mississippi to be recognized in the Forbes list.
