The Kids-N- Hope Foundation’s 24th Annual Golf Classic, presented by Intech Construction and John M. Floyd & Associates, raised over $103,000 on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the PineCrest Country Club in Lansdale, PA. The Kids-N-Hope Foundation (“The Foundation”), organized by American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) in 1996, provides support for Child Life Services, specifically, Music Therapy at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (“CHOP”) and other local hospitals within American Heritage’s Workplace Partner Program. To date, the Foundation has raised more than $1.6 million dollars through its fundraising efforts.
Approximately 140 golfers participated in the scramble where prizes were awarded for low scoring teams and skill competitions such as Putting Contest, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. The Awards Dinner and Silent Auction Program spotlighted the Music Therapy Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Guest speaker Savine DaCosta spoke about her son Gabe and his love of music therapy and the impact it has had on him during his time at CHOP. According to Savine, music therapy is one of the activities in which Gabe loves to participate while at CHOP, and that each musical instrument aids him differently.
“We cannot thank all of our sponsors, business partners, and community members enough for their continued support of the Golf Classic and the Kids-N-Hope Foundation,” stated Dorian Smith, Executive Director of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation and American Heritage Senior Vice President of Business Development. “The funds raised for this event will make a significant impact for children involved in the organizations the foundation supports.”
American Heritage Credit Union became the first credit union in the country to form its own charitable organization when it created the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. American Heritage is consistently recognized within its industry as a state and national leader in community involvement and corporate social responsibility.
