Kohler Credit Union steps up to coordinate Memorial Day Parade

KOHLER, WI (March 16, 2015) — Kohler Credit Union is excited to announce that it will coordinate the annual Sheboygan County Memorial Day Parade, which was recently without management when the current organizers, Jerry and Ingrid Wenninger, stepped down from their role. The annual patriotic celebration includes the parade as well as a ceremony at Fountain Park.

Mayor Mike Vandersteen stated, “I am pleased to announce that Kohler Credit Union has stepped up to keep the Sheboygan Memorial Day Parade and Program on track for Memorial Day 2015. Led by a group of employees, including VP of Lending, Dale Livingston, a former US Marine, the parade has found a new home among dedicated servants of the community.”

“When we heard the Memorial Day Parade was in need of help, it seemed like a natural fit for Kohler Credit Union to participate. It ties in perfectly with our mission of “strengthening communities.” We have a staff that is dedicated to serving others, not only within our branch walls, but in the communities we all call home. And helping with an event that recognizes the men and women that serve our country and fight for our freedom, it made it all that more important for Kohler Credit Union to get involved and ensure the event continues on,” states Tony Klockow, Kohler Credit Union president.

Kohler Credit Union will be working with city officials, the Wenninger’s and local veterans groups to ensure the integrity and strong history of the event remains intact. They are looking forward to immersing themselves in the project and will be reaching out to local organizations in the near future to ask for their participation in the parade. If you or your organization would like to volunteer to walk in the parade, please contact Jamie Schramm, Kohler Credit Union’s employee development manager, at 920.783.2451.

Kohler Credit Union is a $285 million not-for-profit, financial cooperative, owned and governed by its members. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Sheboygan, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington or Waukesha County; as well as their immediate family members and associations or organizations.
