Lehigh Valley the focus for new PSECU Business Development Manager Marcus Pereira

HARRISBURG, PA (April 24, 2018) — Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, recently welcomed Marcus Pereira to its business development team. With a focus on the Lehigh Valley, Pereira, a resident of Moore Township, Northampton County, brings to the role a deep familiarity with the region; more than a decade of sales and relationship-building experience in the banking industry; tri-lingual fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese; and a strong dedication to serving others.

“PSECU’s product and service offerings are of an extremely high quality and offer great value to the credit union’s more than 430,000 members,” said Pereira. “I look forward to promoting their awareness and adoption throughout the Lehigh Valley and to supporting PSECU’s efforts to serve as a trusted financial partner.”

As a PSECU Business Development Manager, Pereira will serve as a brand ambassador for the credit union throughout Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. He will develop new business relationships and work to deepen and broaden existing ones with the goal of promoting PSECU awareness, growing the credit union’s membership, and increasing use and adoption of its products and services.

“PSECU provides a full array of convenient, electronically delivered services, so unlike other financial institutions, you won’t find a physical PSECU branch on every corner. The money we save through our technology-based model is then reinvested in the best interest of our members. By doing so, we can offer many free and low-fee products and services that others just can’t,” explained Dave Dentler, PSECU Senior Director of Membership Development. “Our Business Development Managers throughout the commonwealth are key to providing a personal touch to interactions with our members and potential members. With his vast knowledge of the Lehigh Valley community, its businesses, and its people, Marcus is sure to excel in supporting the region’s needs.”

Before coming to PSECU, Pereira worked in the banking industry as a Business Banker for Citizen Bank’s North-East Region and as a Store Manager for TD Bank. Responsibilities at both banks focused on customer service, product and service promotion, and relationship building. His experience also includes time as an Account Executive for ECI Business Solutions and as a Relationship Manager for Heartland Payment Systems.

Active in the community, Pereira is the Board Chair of Nehemiah Wall, a nonprofit transitional home for women in Bethlehem, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the American Baptist Foundation. He is also a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Pereira earned an Associate’s in Telecommunication Management from DeVry Institute and holds a Bachelor of Science from Instituto Porto Alegre in Brazil.

Marcus Pereira joined PSECU as a Business Development Manager on March 26.
