Local organizations receive endowment funds

The Heritage Credit Union Richard J. McGrath Endowment Fund helps support local social organizations in the communities served by the credit union’s branches. More than $80,000 has been distributed to worthy causes since the fund was founded in 2007. This year’s recipients were: Madison, WI: School Supplies for Kids, Affordable Dental Care, NewBridge Madison, Independent Living, Inc., Madison La Follette Black Student Union; Milwaukee, WI: Wisconsin Veterans Network; Ladysmith, WI: Rusk County Lighthouse; Chetek, WI: UW-Eau Claire- Barron County Foundation; Phillips, WI: The Lord’s Cupboard, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Phillips Volunteer Fire Department; Rockford, IL: Remedies Renewing Lives, Rock House Kids, Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling; and Galesburg, IL: CASA of West Central Illinois, Cremation Assistance Foundation.

The fund is named after a former member of Heritage’s Board of Directors, who dedicated more than 30 years of volunteer service to the credit union. Applications for the endowment are accepted each year from July 1 to August 31. Social organizations that wish to be considered for an award in 2020 may apply during the application period by visiting HeritageCU.org or any Heritage branch.
