Marni Cooper and Natalie Sigmon, two Blue Eagle Credit Union team members, were nominated for their volunteer efforts to receive a donation to their charity of choice. The credit union’s statement and eDocs vendor, Xpress Data Inc. (XDI) celebrated 30 years of business by choosing to donate a total of $30,000 to charity — $1,000 each to 30 recipients demonstrating acts of kindness.
Cooper was nominated for her work with Walk for MS and Sigmon for her work with LovABLE, the nonprofit behind Chris's Coffee and Custard.
Recently, XDI announced that Cooper was selected as one of the lucky recipients. As a result, Walk for MS— Marni’s Miracle Walkers will receive a $1,000 donation in her honor. Though a worthy cause in and of itself, Walk for MS is personal for Cooper. Being diagnosed with MS in 2009, a fire was lit and she has been passionately fighting for a cure since then. Her personal efforts have raised more than $64,000 — now $65,000 — for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
