Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union appoints Chief Operating Officer
Law Enforcement Credit Union sees a bright future with seasoned financial professional
VAN NUYS, CA (May 26, 2022) — Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU) welcomes Avo Mkhitaryan as Chief Operating Officer, effective May 18, 2022. In his new position, Mkhitaryan is responsible for overseeing branch service, sales, and operations, member services, loan services, marketing, and business development, while supporting the credit union’s strategic plan.
Mkhitaryan joins LAPFCU with more than 20 years of financial institution experience and a wealth of related industry expertise. Prior to joining LAPFCU, he was Senior Vice President of Lending and Member Service Centers at Logix Federal Credit Union. Mkhitaryan also held several executive leadership roles in lending, operations, marketing, business development, strategy, and finance.

Mkhitaryan earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from California State University, Northridge and an MBA from Woodbury University. He is a graduate of Western CUNA Management School and holds a Certified Chief Executive designation from CUES CEO Institute. Mkhitaryan is also a past board member of the Glendale Youth Alliance and the Armenian American Public Service Employees’ Association. He previously served as a public official for the Glendale Unified School District, Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, and as a member of various chambers of commerce and associations of realtors.
