McCone County Federal Credit Union announces new name

CIRCLE, MT (December 19, 2019) — After 63 years in business, McCone County Federal Credit Union announced its new name – Grasslands Federal Credit Union (Grasslands FCU,) effective as of November 15, 2019.  After officially merging with the former Fallon County Federal Credit Union on October 1, 2019, the decision was made to find a name that could connect all members of the many communities they are present in.

The $82-million credit union has been growing its field of membership across eastern Montana, expanding from one county into six in 2013, and from six to 13 counties served in 2018. The credit union now serves more than 3,500 members.

“We are joined together as a community by our choice of the grasslands region that we call home” said Emily Guldborg, manager and CEO of Grasslands FCU. “It made sense to move to a name that represented not only our original core county, but was inclusive of our other 12 counties. It also helped us solve the misperception that we only offer membership to those in McCone County.”

Through its new name, Grasslands FCU will drive growth, allowing the credit union to better serve the financial needs of the community. For additional information, visit https://grasslandscu.com/.
