Attendance at a Colt 45s game could pay off big for local fans as Members 1st Credit Union is offering a special $10,000 cash prize in partnership with the Redding baseball team this summer.
Throughout the course of the 2022 season, if a Colt 45s player hits a homerun through the hole of the Members 1st outfield sign, Members 1st will randomly choose a fan in attendance as a winner. Winners could be announced at more than one game throughout the season. The “Homerun Shot” sign is located in left-center field just above the perimeter wall.
“We love seeing the community come out and cheer for the home team,” said Josh Markle, Vice President of Marketing at Members 1st. “We’re very excited about this partnership and being able to reward fans for their loyalty. There is nothing more iconic than baseball in the summer and we are lucky to have such a dynamic team in Redding.”
The Colt 45s began their 2022 season at the end of May after a two-year hiatus. They will wrap up competitive play on July 30th against the Santa Rosa Athletics. Established by Dennis Brugman in 2004, the Colt 45s are an independent collegiate baseball franchise that plays at the historic Tiger Field at the corner of Cypress Avenue and Market Street. Players come from various parts of the country to play in the minor league-style summer series.
“We are thankful for amazing local sponsors like Members 1st Credit Union and being able to celebrate our players’ wins this way,” said Rick Bosetti of the Colt 45s. “It’s really an exciting addition to the whole Tiger Field experience.”
Special highlights for the next two months include “We Back the Blue Night” on June 11th with RPD canine officers participating in pregame ceremonies, and a July 4th matchup against the Portland All Stars, where guests of the Third Base Club Pavilion can stay late and enjoy the city fireworks display.
