About Members Cooperative Credit Union (MCCU)
Members Cooperative Credit Union was founded the spring of 1936, when a group from the Cloquet area envisioned a better way of getting the financial services they and their community needed. They became the charter members of Cloquet Co-op Credit Union. In the decades that followed, the credit union grew, adding branches and expanding into Duluth, McGregor, and Aitkin, and changing its name to better reflect its growing membership. In 2015, the credit union merged with Lake State CU, integrating the Moose Lake, Sandstone, North Branch, and Isanti locations. In 2017, a merger with Lakes Area FCU added a Grand Rapids location, and most recently, the credit union opened a Brainerd Lakes Area branch in Baxter. Today, MCCU has grown to serve over 55,000 members. Their confidence and continued support have made it the largest credit union based north of the Twin Cities. MCCU is proud to continue the community-focused legacy their founders envisioned, and to empower new generations of members and their families. For more information, please visit www.membersccu.org.
