Members First Credit Union donates to Greater Midland North Family Center

MIDLAND, MI (August 15, 2019) — Members First Credit Union teamed up with the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational (Dow GLBI) for the inaugural Eat Great Food Festival, which was held in downtown Midland. Members First Credit Union is committed to encouraging a better tomorrow, and used the opportunity to raise money for a local non- profit as part of their Community Different Project.

Using a small putting green set up on the sidewalk as part of the Eat Great Food Festival, Members First Credit Union (MFCU) had local staff charging festival goers $1 per putt, with all the proceeds being donated to a local non-profit. If the putt was made, the lucky individual had the chance to grab as much money as they could in ten seconds inside the MFCU cash cube. MFCU and the Dow GLBI each contributed $1,000 per day to the cash cube over the two-day festival for people to win to encourage participation.

Using the proceeds of the putts and leftover cash from the cash cube, MFCU is proud to award the Greater Midland North Family Center with a donation of $1,663.94 as part of their Community Different Project.

“We are thrilled to be selected by Members First Credit Union to receive the funds raised through this great event,” said Liz Conway, Executive Director of the Greater Midland North Family Center. “Our Family Center relies on financial support like this to impact the residents of northern Midland County. This donation will help support programs such as wellness, Early Care and Education, youth outreach, Senior Services and provide a space for human connection and belonging.”

The MFCU Community Difference Project was started on the foundation of the credit union philosophy “people helping people.” The staff members are committed and passionate about living this philosophy by providing non profit organizations support through monetary donations, random acts of kindness and volunteering.
