Members First Credit Union supports Make-A-Wish of Michigan

MIDLAND, MI (August 16, 2019) — Members First Credit Union is supporting Make-A-Wish of Michigan during the month of August though their Community Difference Project.

Members First Credit Union (MFCU) is engaging all locations in a branch-wide fundraising effort to sell “stars” as a Make-A-Wish of Michigan fundraiser. According to their website, “Make-A-Wish Michigan granted more than 450 wishes last year to Michigan children with critical illnesses,” but “there are more than 650 medically eligible Michigan children.” All proceeds of the “stars” sold will be donated to Make-A-Wish of Michigan.

“I got involved in Make a Wish last year as I’ve always had a strong desire to do anything that helps children,” said Amanda Wurm, Manager at the MFCU Kentwood Branch location in Grand Rapids. “After attending Walk for Wishes last year and seeing the impact this has on families lives, I knew this was an organization that I needed to be involved in. Each time I see a wish granted and see the pure happiness it brings to the families lives, I know the time and effort put into the organization is well worth it. It inspires me to continue to do more. I’m so blessed to work for such a great company like Members First Credit Union who stands behind organizations like this and teams together to make a big impact.”

The fundraiser is gearing up to the “ Walk for Wishes ” West Michigan, held on September 14, 2019 and Members First Credit Union will have a team participating.
