The Race for the Place will take place April 14, 2013, on the campus of Michigan State University.

EAST LANSING, MI — MSU Federal Credit Union invites its members and the Mid-Michigan community to participate in the annual Race for the Place 5K on Sunday, April 14, 2013, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The race is the largest annual fundraiser for Michigan State University’s on-campus domestic violence shelter and advocacy services provider, MSU Safe Place, and allows the program to continue to provide vital services to the MSU and Greater Lansing communities. MSUFCU has proudly sponsored the Race for the Place for more than fifteen years.

The Race for the Place 5K is the kickoff race for the 2013 Playmakers Greater Lansing Race Series, with a course that begins and ends at Jenison Field House on MSU’s campus. Participants can enjoy a 5K run, walk, or wheel, and the event also includes a 1-mile fun run and 100-yard dash for children. Last year, nearly six hundred adults and one hundred and fifteen children participated in the Race for the Place events, raising more than $20,000 for MSU Safe Place.

Race registration is available online, via mail, and at Jenison Field House on race day. For more details, visit www.msufcu.org/safeplace.
