Mississippi Credit Union Association elects board, recognizes Hall of Fame inductees

BILOXI,, MS (May 25, 2022) — The Mississippi Credit Union Association (MSCUA) membership has elected its board of directors. The twelve-member MSCUA Board represents the association’s sixty-six member credit unions in Mississippi that provide financial services to more than 700,000 consumers.

Four MSCUA directors were re-elected to a three-year term:

• Sheila Bridges, Brightview FCU (Jackson, MS)
• John Gibbons, Triangle FCU (Columbus, MS)
• Chris Hammond, Sunbelt FCU (Laurel, MS)
• James B. Smith, Jr., Singing River FCU (Moss Point, MS)

Elected to a fill an unexpired one-year term:

• James Hollingsworth (Col-Ret), Keesler FCU (Biloxi, MS)

The MSCUA Board of Directors are Chairman Chris Hammond, Sunbelt FCU (Laurel, MS); Vice-Chairman Sheila Bridges, Brightview FCU (Jackson, MS); Treasurer Katie Nelson, Eagle Express FCU (Jackson, MS); Past Chairman James B. Smith, Jr., Singing River FCU (Moss Point, MS); Betty Barrett, Magnolia FCU (Jackson, MS); Rebecca Cooper, 1st Mississippi FCU (Meridian, MS); John Gibbons, Triangle FCU (Columbus, MS); John Harmond, CenturyFirst FCU (Hattiesburg, MS); James Hollingsworth (Col-Ret), Keesler FCU (Biloxi, MS); Tommy Leonard, Navigator CU (Pascagoula, MS); Alison Lynd, Southern Coastal FCU (Biloxi, MS); and Michael Mathews, Mutual CU (Vicksburg, MS).

MSCUA also announced the 2022 Mississippi Credit Union Hall of Fame inductees. The Mississippi Credit Union Hall of Fame was founded in 1994 to recognize deserving individuals who have dedicated a lifetime of service to the credit union movement. The 2022 inductees are:

• Debbie Barnes, Sunbelt FCU (Laurel, MS)
• Charlotte Breal, Biloxi Teachers FCU (Biloxi, MS)
• Pam Cotten, Statewide FCU (Jackson, MS)
• H. Thomas “Tom” McWilliams, MS Credit Union Association (Jackson, MS)
• Thomas Williams, Sunbelt FCU (Laurel, MS)
