MSGCU hosts ribbon cutting ceremony for Bloomfield Township branch office

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (October 13, 2021) |

Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) opened the doors to its newest location in Bloomfield Township by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ribbon was cut by Bloomfield Township Treasurer, Brian Kepes, MSGCU President and CEO, Peter Gates, and MSGCU Branch Sales Manager, Joshua Bennett. In attendance were the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, local area business and community leaders, and MSGCU Board Members and employees. Guests were invited to enjoy refreshments, get to know branch team members and management of the credit union, and tour the facility.

“We are extremely pleased to have expanded our presence in Oakland County and offer increased accessibility and more convenience to our members that live, work, and commute in the growing Bloomfield Township area,” said Gates. “This branch office in Bloomfield Township allows us to be a financial champion to community members by helping them reach their financial goals with better rates, low fees, and personalized service.”

Together, Bennett, and Assistant Branch Manager, Ellie Baguzis, have nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry and have been instrumental in supporting the Bloomfield community. Recently, MSGCU donated $1,000 to CARE House of Oakland County as part of MSGCU’s dedication to community giving.

“I am grateful for the partnerships MSGCU has formed with Bloomfield Township and the surrounding areas,” said Bennett. “We look forward to deepening relationships by being a financial champion to the community and upholding the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.”

Located on Telegraph, north of Square Lake, the branch office is the sixth in Oakland County. The Bloomfield Township branch office features three drive-thru lanes and 3,599 square feet of space with a touch-screen information board, coffee bar, and 24-hour ATM. It offers MSGCU’s comprehensive suite of services and products for the benefit of its members and the community. This includes Saturday lobby and drive-thru hours, market-leading rates for a variety of loans and deposits, a fully staffed Michigan call center, access to nearly 30,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide, scholarship opportunities, free educational workshops, and much more.
