MSUFCU employees donate nearly $80,000 to charity partners in first half of 2020

EAST LANSING, MI (August 25, 2020) — Employees at MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU)have raised $79,127 for four local charitable organizations, halfway through their yearlong campaign supporting the Credit Union’s core value of giving back to the communities they serve.

Each year, Credit Union employees select four local charities to support through a yearlong fundraising initiative. This year’s charities are:Capital Area United Way and Helping Women Period, each in Lansing; HQ Runway and Homeless Youth Drop-In Center in Kent County; and Oakland County Animal Shelter. Each organization received $19,781.

“Due to the impact of COVID-19, many of these organizations have had to cancel fundraising events — and now more than ever, community members need our support,” said Silvia Dimma, MSUFCU Chief Human Resources Officer. “We are proud that our employees have continued to provide assistance through their personal donations during this challenging time.”
