MSUFCU named a Top Five Workplace by Detroit Free Press for fourth consecutive year

EAST LANSING, MI (November 13, 2018) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is honored to be named a Top Workplace for 2018 by the Detroit Free Press. The Credit Union has been named as a Top Workplace each year since 2012, and has placed in the top five workplaces in the large workplace category every year since 2014.

To be considered for a Top Workplace recognition, MSUFCU employees participated in an anonymous survey administered by the Detroit Free Press covering seven areas, including organizational health factors that measure how well employees are working together toward a common cause. These include alignment, effectiveness, connection, manager evaluation, employee engagement, organization’s leader, and overall benefits.

In all, 244 organizations, with a combined 110,993 employees, participated in the survey. This year, 151 Michigan employers earned the Top Workplaces list recognition.

“At MSUFCU, our employees are passionate about working together to fulfill our mission of helping members and employees achieve their dreams,” said Silvia Dimma, MSUFCU’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “We provide an environment that fosters communication and collaboration to ensure our employees develop and are empowered. We are honored by this recognition as it underscores our commitment to our employees.”

As part of its entry for the Top Workplaces competition, MSUFCU highlighted how the credit union strives to remain competitive and innovative with its compensation and benefits.  Extensive steps are taken to help employees be successful, including a comprehensive onboarding process in which new hires are integrated into the organization with an emphasis on cordialness.

Internal engagement programs include an organization-wide wellness incentive program, a skills development course offered to all employees, frequent town hall meetings with executives, an internal social media platform to connect amid expansive geographical growth, and more.
