NAFCU Names 2012 Annual Awards Competition Winners

WASHINGTON – The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (www.nafcu.org) Awards Committee has selected six individuals and two credit unions as winners in its 2012 Annual Awards Competition. The winners will be honored in conjunction with NAFCU’s 45th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, July 24 – 28.

“In terms of membership growth and public awareness, 2011 was a banner year for credit unions,” said NAFCU President and CEO Fred R. Becker, “NAFCU is especially pleased to recognize these exceptional credit union leaders whose accomplishments are shining examples of what makes our industry great.”

The 2012 award recipients are:

Federal Credit Union of the Year

  • Pioneer West Virginia FCU, Charleston, W.Va. (less than $150 million)
  • SeaComm FCU, Massena, N.Y. ($150 million or more)

CEO of the Year

  • Gerald P. Bolduc, Monroe County Teachers FCU in Key West, Fla. (less than $150 million)
  • John M. Tippets, North Island CU in San Diego, Calif. ($150 million or more)

Professional of the Year

  • Linda Hennings, Campco FCU in Gillette, Wyo. (less than $150 million)
  • Bonnie Ciuffo, South Carolina FCU in North Charleston, S.C.

Volunteer of the Year

  • Doug Spitler, Electrical FCU in Arvada, Colo. (less than $150 million)
  • Carl Rummel, Missoula FCU in Missoula, Mont. ($150 million or more)

Annual Awards winners will be celebrated during the awards ceremony and breakfast on July 26 at NAFCU’s 45th Annual Conference and Exhibition and profiled in an upcoming issue of The Federal Credit Union magazine. In addition, the winners of NAFCU’s 2012 Annual Marketing Awards, announced earlier this year, will be on display at the conference.

Also during the conference, NAFCU will present the 2012 White Hat Award to the NAFCU member credit union raising the most dollars for NAFCU/PAC.
