Navigant Credit Union members and employees donate over 1,200 toys, books and other supplies to support Meeting Street

Today’s donation is the result of a month-long, company-wide collection drive hosted at each of Navigant Credit Union’s 18 branches.

SMITHFIELD, RI (July 9, 2018) — Navigant Credit Union employees recently donated over 1,200 toys, books and other items to support Meeting Street “Early Intervention Program.”

Meeting Street annually educates and serves more than 5,000 children and families from Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. The school’s Early Intervention Program provides young children—from newborns to 3-year-olds—with the day-to-day support and services they need during the early years of their development.

The donation was the result of a company-wide, month-long collection drive during which hundreds of Navigant Credit Union’s employees and members at each of its 18 branches across Rhode Island contributed donations.

“Meeting Street is an invaluable staple in Rhode Island’s community. Its teachers, staff members and leadership team have made a huge difference in the lives of thousands of local children. Navigant Credit Union could not be more proud to support their work,” said Navigant Credit Union President and CEO Gary E. Furtado. “I want to thank each and every one of our employees and members for contributing to our collection drive, and I hope everyone involved with Meeting Street’s Early Intervention Program has a great, fun-filled summer.”

Navigant Credit Union’s collection period ran from May 30 through June 26. Donated items included puzzles, children’s books, blocks, dolls, cars & trucks, bubbles and everything in between.
