NCUA selects D. Scott Neat as Director of Supervision

ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 18, 2013) — National Credit Union Administration Board Chairman Debbie Matz today announced the selection of D. Scott Neat as Director of Supervision in the Office of Examination and Insurance.

A 26-year veteran of NCUA, Neat will begin his new duties Nov. 3. He succeeds Matthew Biliouris, who was named Deputy Director of the NCUA’s Office of Consumer Protection in July. The Division of Supervision oversees NCUA’s examination and supervision program.

Currently a Supervisory Examiner based in Memphis, Neat joined NCUA as an Examiner in 1987. In 1990, he accepted a position as a Supervision Analyst in NCUA’s Atlanta Region III office. He served as a Problem Case Officer in Region III’s Division of Special Actions from 1992 until assuming his current supervisory role in 2007.

Neat holds a degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky.

NCUA is the independent federal agency created by the U.S. Congress to regulate, charter and supervise federal credit unions. With the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government, NCUA operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of more than 95 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the overwhelming majority of state-chartered credit unions.
