North Texas Intouch Credit Union Branches Launch Spring Donation Drives

Select Branches in Plano, Carrollton and Frisco Will Accept Items for Local Organizations

PLANO, TEXAS (March 29, 2013) – InTouch Credit Union (ITCU) is excited to announce new donation drives launching April 1, 2013 at three of their North Texas branches; these drives will continue throughout the months of April and May. Much in the credit union spirit, the ITCU McDermott, Midway and World Cup branches have opted to raise awareness and donations for different organizations working within each branch’s local communities of Plano, Carrollton and Frisco, respectively.

InTouch Credit Union’s McDermott branch, located in ITCU’s home base of Plano, is collecting items for donation to City of Plano Animal Services. City of Plano Animal Services offers pet adoptions as well as lost and found and other animal services to the residents of Plano, Texas. Items accepted for donation include flea products, clumping cat litter and washable toys.

The ITCU Midway branch is accepting items for donation to Metrocrest Social Services. Metrocrest Social Services provides families emergency assistance and relief in the form of rent, utilities, food, clothing, prescriptions and more towards their goal of preventing homelessness in their surrounding communities, including parts of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell and Dallas. In their 2012 fiscal year, Metrocrest aided 3,300 families representing over 10,000 adults, children and seniors. The most needed items for Metrocrest include dry goods and canned foods, such as vegetables or soups.

Frisco’s World Cup ITCU branch is taking items for donation to Frisco Family Services. Frisco Family Services provides residents of Frisco and the surrounding areas with a safety net by helping those facing hunger, homelessness and other urgent needs improve their quality of life and get on a path towards self-sufficiency. Current items needed by the organization include laundry detergent, nonperishable food items, as well as diapers in sizes 4 and 5.

“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our dedicated membership in past donation drives. We are excited to see what our members, as well as each branch’s surrounding community, can do to help their neighborhoods this time around,” said Diane Gerstner, Executive Vice President of InTouch Credit Union.

Items will be accepted for donation at all three of these branches through May 31, 2013. Full suggested item lists for each of these drives are available in the respective branches or can be found via the links below:
