Northwest wildfire relief totals $50,000 from Unitus CCU

PDX Credit Union donates to help with supplies, essential commodities, and direct aid for individuals, families, and employees affected by the wildfires

Unitus Community Credit Union has given $50,000 to local organizations RedCross Cascades, United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, and Northwest Credit Union Foundation to help with relief efforts for the wildfires ravaging Oregon and Washington.

Unitus’ donations will directly support communities affected by the wildfires, providing relief supplies, nourishing meals, shelter, and medical care. The donations will also support emergency responders’ heroic efforts with recovery services during and after the wildfires.

In support of Unitus team members impacted by the fires, the credit union designated $10,000 of the donations to Northwest Credit Union Foundation’s disaster relief response program. The program provides small-dollar emergency grants up to $1,500 to credit union employees and board members.

“We’re incredibly thankful for all of the emergency responders who are working tirelessly to fight these wildfires,” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President/CEO.

“We’re also incredibly grateful to the nonprofits and organizations that moved quickly to provide our displaced community members with much-needed support. Our sole purpose is to show up for the moments that matter most: these life-defining moments. It’s our honor and duty to be there for our community and team.”

In addition to the wildfire relief support, to assist members impacted by the wildfires Unitus is offering skip-payment and special emergency loan options. Contact Unitustoday to learn more.
