Nymeo sponsors 5th Millionaire’s Club in Frederick County at Walkersville High School

Nymeo Federal Credit Union in partnership with the Credit Union Foundation of MD|DC and Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) launched the fifth Millionaire’s Club in the county at Walkersville High School. The Club will provide financial literacy education and teach leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

“This is the fifth Millionaire’s Club Nymeo has sponsored at FCPS, and we are thrilled!” said Vicki Johnston, Nymeo’s President and CEO. “This club gives students a unique opportunity to actively learn about money management and personal finance – a skill they can utilize today as young adults and also when they enter the ‘real world’.”

Developed by the Credit Union Foundation MD|DC, the Millionaire’s Club provides seed grants and a detailed curriculum from the National Endowment for Financial Education. The Club members elect their own leaders and participate in programs, including a business project that puts into practice their newfound skills to generate funds for the Club.

“I hope to encourage and support their entrepreneurial spirit and provide them with the tools and resources that will help them prepare and plan for a secure financial future,” said Gina Stelma,  Junior Class Advisor at Walkersville High School and a Career and Technology Education teacher. “These are valuable skills that will follow them throughout their lifetime and will contribute to their overall success.”
