Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls receives grant from Y-12 Gives Foundation

OAK RIDGE, TN (December 21, 2018) — Y-12 Gives Foundation presented a check to representatives from the Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls. The mission of ORCS is to inspire middle school girls in East Tennessee to actively explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers.  They organize coding and technology workshops for Middle School girls in Oak Ridge and surrounding areas.

The mission of ORCS strongly aligns with the focus of Y-12 Gives Foundation which works to improve communities by delivering human and financial resources in the areas of:

  • Education
  • Health & Wellness
  • Emerging community needs

Y-12 FCU Gives Foundation was established by Y-12 Federal Credit Union, a full-service financial provider headquartered in Oak Ridge, TN, with 14 branches located in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Knox, Roane and Sevier counties serving 117,00 members. The foundation was established to extend the Y-12 FCU mission of “people helping people” into the philanthropic realm of charitable giving and support.
