Oscoda Branch of AAACU Supports Relay for Life
OSCODA, MI (July 5, 2013) — Through the hard work of its employees and the generosity of its membership, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union was able to raise $3164.12 for Relay for Life.
Relay for Life is an event held by the American Cancer Society to help celebrate the lives of people who have or are battling cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. The funds raised during the relay directly benefit cancer patients and their families. The relay provides support, encouragement, comfort, and healing for those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
The Oscoda Branch held several fundraising events for Relay for Life. Candy bar and popcorn sales, raffles, book sales, bake sales, and monetary donations totaled $3164.12.
Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union employees select four community or charity organizations that they would like to raise funds and/or accept donations for during each quarter of the year. During the 2nd quarter of 2013, the staff of the Oscoda Branch chose to help those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
