ROYAL OAK, MI (May 26, 2022) — The Board of Directors of OUR Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Cameron as the credit union’s new President/Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Cameron will succeed Ms. Tina Dix. Dix will retire in July of 2022 after 38 years of distinguished service to OUR Credit Union.
“After an extensive search the board is excited to have Darren join the OUR Credit Union team,” said Brian Cook, OUR CU’s immediate past Board Chairman. “Darren’s leadership, commitment to the credit union movement, and passion for exemplifying our “people helping people” vision will undoubtedly strengthen the relationship we have with our members and community.”
Over his career, Darren has acquired over 25 years of financial management experience and executive leadership across all functional areas. He has proven to be a strategic visionary who drives growth through deepening member relationships and is steadfast in his support and dedication to his team. He looks forward to bringing this expertise to OUR Credit Union.

Darren has two undergraduate degrees, a master’s in business administration from Northwood University and is a CUES Certified Senior Executive. He currently serves on the board of the YMCA of Metro Detroit and is the Chair of the Board Development Committee. He also serves as a board member of the Oakland County Chapter of Credit Unions. He also previously served as the Chair of the Cooperative Advertising Committee for the Michigan Credit Union League.

OUR Credit Union has provided financial services to individuals, families, and businesses in their community since 1959. The credit union was originally chartered to serve the savings and loan needs of the St. Dennis Parish community. In June 1984, a charter change led the credit union to open membership to the entire Royal Oak community as Royal Oak Community Credit Union. In 2007, the credit union changed its name to OUR Credit Union and has the opportunity to offer warm, friendly service throughout the entire state of Michigan.
