PCU Hosts Students During Banker for a Day

WOODBURY, MN (April 23, 2013) – Students from Skyview Elementary School in Oakdale got to be “Bankers for a Day” recently at Postal Credit Union’s Woodbury office.  The 4th graders had an opportunity to work in a number of areas, including the teller line, member service, loans and the contact center. Students also had the chance to interview for employment and learned how member-owned credit unions differ from other financial service providers.

“This is the 6th year PCU has invited students to our branch to learn more about what we do as a full-service credit union,” said Woodbury Branch Manager Liz Fleischhacker. “The students ask great questions and are interested in how we operate. They really like going behind the teller line and working in the drive-thru. It’s big hit with the students every year.”

PCU representatives also visit the classroom at Skyview several times during the school year to talk to students about the importance of financial literacy. Among the topics discussed are making and balancing a budget, building a credit history, how to apply for credit, responsible money management and more.
