PDX CEOs: Unitus one of Oregon’s Most Admired Companies

Portland Business Journal’s annual survey of regional CEOs finds Unitus’ brand, image, and reputation recognized among the best.

Once again, Unitus Community Credit Union has been voted one of Oregon’s Most Admired Companies by CEOs throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The Portland Business Journal’s prestigious annual event calls on thousands of CEOs in the region to highlight those organizations with outstanding reputation, brand, and impact. This year, the Journal asked more than 5,000 CEOs to cast first-, second-, and third-place votes for the most admirable companies in each of the eight categories.

Earning honors in the Financial Services category, Unitus beat out hundreds of institutions ranging as broadly as banks, credit unions, savings & loans, stock brokerages, investment banks and money managers. At the final tally, Unitus emerged in the Top 25, earning nineteenth among financial organizations. The official rankings were announced December 13 at the annual luncheon honoring Oregon’s Most Admired Companies at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Portland.

“You can’t earn this award without having an outstanding organizational culture,” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President and CEO. “Our Leadership team, Board of Directors, and outstanding employees should all be very proud today – this award is an acknowledgment of their shared vision, dedication, and commitment to making a positive impact in our communities.”

Unitus keeps good company: a number of the credit union’s frequent community partners also earned Most Admired distinction, including Oregon Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and Children’s Cancer Association (in the Nonprofit category), as well as OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (Health Care).

This is the seventh time Unitus has received Oregon’s Most Admired honors in the last eight years.
