Pen Air FCU Celebrates Financial Literacy Month, Credit Union Youth Week

PENSACOLA, FL (April 4, 2013) – Get a head start on the road to financial fitness. Pen Air Federal Credit Union is kicking off a month-long celebration of area youth, with events and contests scheduled for National Financial Literacy Month and National Credit Union Youth Week (April 21-27). The “Young & Fit” theme will focus on developing healthy habits for both physical and financial well-being.

Now through April 30, a “Color Yourself Fit” contest will award a prize to the winner in the Penny Savers (birth to age 11) and My2Cents (age 12 to 17) categories for creating artwork displaying ways to practice financial fitness – such as completing chores, getting a summer job or saving money. On Tuesday, April 23, Pen Air FCU will host two events for its Penny Savers and My2Cents youth clubs, to be held concurrently at the Corporate Branch, 1495 E. Nine Mile Road in Pensacola, Fla. and Robertsdale Branch, 2155 Hwy. 59 South in Robertsdale, Ala. From 3 to 4 p.m., children through age 11 will learn about saving through a “Money Moves!” game incorporating music, movement and money. From 6 to 7 p.m., youth through age 17 will enjoy an interactive “Jump into Savings!” presentation to learn how to set a savings goal, create a budget and more.
