PenFed Branch services return to San Antonio, Texas

After a four year absence in the community, Pentagon Federal Credit Union is bringing back branch operations to San Antonio. To celebrate the credit union’s return to the community, a public, weeklong, grand opening celebration that features daily themed events will be held March 16 through March 20, 2015.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 12, 2015) — Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) today announced that it is bringing back branch operations to the San Antonio community. The branch will officially open its doors for service on Monday, March 16 at 9 a.m. A full week’s worth of grand opening activities will continue through March 20.

“This is a great day for the community of San Antonio,” said Kevyn Myers, executive vice president and chief operating officer with PenFed. “We are very excited about bringing engaged, personalized member service back to this city. We want our members to experience the best in financial products and services and a branch presence allows us to make that experience even better. Now it’s time to honor this moment with a celebration.”

To make the announcement official, the San Antonio branch team invites both the public and military communities to come and attend a full week of grand opening celebration activities. Daily themed events will be held March 16 – 20, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house celebration will mark the grand opening finale on Friday, March 20. The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m., with an open house celebration to immediately follow and continue until 4 p.m.

Grand Opening Event Schedule:

The daily grand opening events will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Each day will feature food, light refreshments, and giveaways:

  • Monday, March 16 – Opening Day: Meet and Greet.
  • Tuesday, March 17 – Classic and Vintage Car Day
  • Wednesday, March 18 – Truck Day: Come check out the latest demo trucks on display from participating local dealerships.
  • Thursday, March 19 – Military and Service Organizations Day: Meet with local community military and service organizations throughout the day.
  • Friday, March 20 – Ribbon Cutting and Open House Celebration: Join the PenFed branch team for an official ribbon-cutting event and open house. The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m.

Guests will include: visiting executive officials from PenFed’s main office, local military command and civilian leadership groups.

Manuel Serna will manage branch operations. Serna is a San Antonio native who earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. He’s currently pursuing his MBA at Texas A&M University with focused studies in Project Management. Although new to the PenFed team, Serna brings more than ten years of experience in the credit union industry.

“I am excited about PenFed’s return to my home town,” said Manuel Serna, San Antonio branch manager for PenFed. PenFed’s financial products are competitive, innovative, and richly diverse; therefore I am looking forward to helping new and existing members benefit from these services so that they can feel confident about their financial choices and goals.”

The San Antonio branch will provide full service operations; to include PenFed’s full-suite of financial products such as ATM, cash and deposit services, and auto, boat, motorcycle, mortgage financing, and more.

“We really want to encourage everyone to join us for the celebration. This is an opportunity for the public to come tour the branch, enjoy daily giveaways, visit with the branch team, and meet local military and community leaders,” said Serna.

The branch hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The branch is located at 14603 Huebner Rd., Building 38; Suite 1 in San Antonio.
