PenFed celebrates Habitat for Humanity D.C. home dedication

PenFed Credit Union, the nation’s second largest federal credit union, along with Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C., this weekend celebrated the completion of nine homes in Northeast and Southeast D.C. together with the new homeowners in a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Saturday, January 27.

Since 2013, PenFed has provided more than $1.4 million in support to D.C. Habitat through direct contributions and financing. Additionally, 56 PenFed volunteers have spent nearly 400 hours volunteering on D.C. Habitat build sites. More recently, Debbie Ames Naylor, Executive Vice President & President, Mortgage Banking with PenFed Credit Union, served as D.C. Habitat's Women Build Campaign Leadership Chair. Under her leadership, nearly $600,000 was raised towards D.C. Habitat's Women Build efforts.

COO, Executive Vice President and President, M&A Integration and Payment Systems for PenFed, Kevyn Myers, attended the event and shared remarks. “Partnering with Habitat is a natural fit for PenFed. Our mission is to help our members Do Better Financially. And what aligns better than Habitat’s mission of affordable homeownership?” said Myers. “We are proud to be a part of making the dream of homeownership a reality for so many deserving families and helping to revitalize D.C. communities.”
