Komen Great Plains. PenFed Nebraska employees, alongside their families and friends, will also participatein the three-mile race as a walking team on event day.

“As an organization committed to volunteerism and philanthropy, being a major sponsor for this year’s Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure, was a natural fit for us,” said PenFed Senior Vice President of the Regional Service Center in Omaha Jim Kingsley. “The PenFed Nebraska team is always looking for opportunities in which to help others in our community. Breast cancer touches the lives of so many, so participating in a fundraiser effort that will help save lives, and further breast cancer awareness and research, is a very important cause we can all proudly support.”

In addition to the sponsorship, the PenFed Nebraska team is committed to raising $5,000 for the walk event, and has already hosted several pre-event fundraisers. PenFed has also donated a Team PenFed football jersey, signed by all three University of Nebraska Heisman Trophy winners, which will be raffled off online the day of the event.

The jersey is signed by Johnny Rodgers, No. 20; Mike Rozier, No. 30; and Eric Crouch, No. 7. Anyone can purchase virtual raffle tickets online at https://one.bidpal.net/penfedjersey/welcome for a chance to win the jersey. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen Great Plains.

“Women and families impacted by breast cancer are directly helped by the generosity of Race for the Cure donors,” said Karen Daneu, CEO of Susan G. Komen Great Plains. “These gifts help remove barriers to care by local programs, and improve treatment options through research. We are especially grateful for the activities of our sponsor partners like PenFed to raise funds that make a difference.”

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer.
