Despite increasing investments in cybersecurity, financial institutions continue to face costly breaches that jeopardize both trust and business continuity. In 2025, global cybersecurity spending by financial institutions is projected to hit USD 32 billion, representing nearly 11% of IT budgets. Yet the average cost of a single data breach in the financial sector in 2024 was approximately USD 6.08 million. For breaches involving over 50 million records, costs can soar as high as USD 375 million.
To help credit unions and banks bridge the gap between security spend and actual risk reduction, Picus Security is hosting a free, practical webinar focused on a more effective and measurable approach to cybersecurity resilience.
The webinar, titled “From Risk to Resilience: A Financial Institution’s Playbook for Cyber Assurance,” is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 1 PM ET and is hosted by CUInsight.
Every year, over 40,000 vulnerabilities emerge—most marked critical, but many already blocked. Traditional tools miss this, overwhelming teams with noise and false urgency. Attendees will learn how to transform their cybersecurity posture by understanding which vulnerabilities truly matter, cutting through the noise of theoretical threats to zero in on the real risks. Using a practical approach known as Adversarial Exposure Validation, presenters will walk through how credit unions can strengthen cyber governance, optimize security investments, and communicate more effectively with boards and executives.
Leading the session is H. Alper Memis, Co-founder and CEO of Picus Security. He will be joined by Brian Fricke, MSVP, CISO and Technology Risk Executive at City National Bank of Florida, and Dana Turner, CISO at Union Bank & Trust, who will offer real-world perspectives from the front lines of financial cybersecurity.
“Credit unions are overwhelmed by countless theoretical vulnerabilities. In this webinar, we’ll explore how Adversarial Exposure Validation pinpoints the threats truly exploitable in your unique environment, enabling precise prioritization for boards and executives,” said Memis.
This free event will be presented on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 1 PM ET via Zoom. Those interested in attending should register here. Log-in details will be provided upon registration.
