Powered By Honor donates $1,500 to Eleanor’s Pantry

PAW PAW, MI (May 19, 2015) — Powered By Honor is proud to support Eleanor’s Pantry with a $1,500 donation. Eleanor’s Pantry is a food pantry in Paw Paw, Michigan serving those in need in Van Buren County, one of the poorest of all Michigan counties. Powered By Honor, Honor Credit Union’s community fund, presented the $1,500 donation to Eleanor’s Pantry volunteers Patricia McKinney and Nellie DeLong on Monday, May 18.

Eleanor’s Pantry is the only food bank serving Paw Paw and Lawton and serves an average of 1,000 children and adults every single month. Eleanor’s Pantry is staffed completely by volunteers with no paid staff members. The pantry operates solely on the generosity of the community and does not receive government funding. Located at 221 Drew Street in Paw Paw, Eleanor’s Pantry is working together to make a difference in the local community by feedingt families in need.   Powered By Honor’s $1,500 donation will supply the pantry with up to 9,000 pounds of food, as every dollar donated to Eleanor’s Pantry is capable of purchasing 6-7 pounds of food from Feeding America.
