Powered By Honor supports Blessings In A Backpack with $5,000 donation

SAINT JOSEPH, MI (March 23, 2015) — Powered By Honor is excited to contribute to the origination of the Blessings In A Backpack program at Brown Elementary School with a $5,000 donation. Shannon Larsen and her daughter Grace have served as the organizers and driving force behind this great program coming to Brown Elementary within Saint Joseph Public Schools.

Blessings In A Backpack provides food for children who might not have any other means of getting it on weekends during the school year. The national program currently assists families struggling to provide food for their children in 44 states. Grace Larsen, the reigning Miss Southwest Michigan’s Princess 2014, was looking for a way to help children in her own community that were struggling with hunger. Blessings In A Backpack will do just that, and Powered By Honor is proud to support Grace’s mission.
