Premier Members Credit Union receives Green Business awards

Premier Members Credit Union received a silver level Green Business recognition in Louisville & Longmont

For the fourth year in a row, Premier Members Credit Union received recognition for its sustainability program by being awarded Silver for the Louisville Green Business Program. Silver level recognition was also awarded, for the second consecutive year, for its two branches in Longmont, and we have been SAGE certified in Westminster since 2020. These awards recognize businesses for their investments and contributions to the economic vitality of the community and the health of the environment. Honorees exemplify environmental achievement and champion energy and water conservation, waste reduction and alternative transportation.

“Each year more and more businesses are participating in local green business programs, and collaborating to create more sustainable communities. It’s so rewarding to work for an organization that puts an emphasis on environmental stewardship and advancing Colorado further towards the clean energy economy,” said Miles Hoffman, Sustainability Specialist for Premier Members Credit Union. “As the green business program shifts to a state-wide effort, we at Premier Members Credit Union look forward to accelerating our efforts to all operations across the Front Range. The ever-growing sustainable network in Colorado will only accelerate the solutions we need now and for the future.”

In 2018, Premier Members Credit Union became the first financial institution in the nation to hire a full-time sustainability specialist focused on reducing environmental impact while promoting positive community engagement. The credit union is currently pursuing initiatives to reduce resource use across all operations, including zero waste efforts, energy and water efficient infrastructure, and employee participation and recognition programs.
