Progressive Credit Union launches online membership application

Friendlier membership process helps PCU better serve members

Manhattan-based Progressive Credit Union, one of the oldest member-owned financial institutions in New York, has launched an all-new online resource that allows the credit union to more easily accept member applications. The new form offers a more streamlined and user-friendly membership experience.

“Our new online application allows PCU to be more responsive to the needs of prospective members,” Robert Familant, PCU’s treasurer/CEO said. “Having the ability to streamline our onboarding process all while showcasing the benefits of membership is a winning proposition for PCU.”

The new application benefits those who are looking to become members, as well as the institution’s member servicing capabilities. “We are always looking at the best ways to enhance PCU’s member experience,” Richard Murdocco, PCU’s director of marketing and member experience said. “By working with CU*Answers to provide this online resource, our credit union is offering a convenient and secure way for our staff to build new relationships.”

Online member onboarding is one of the many ways that PCU has invested in its member service infrastructure in recent months. “Exciting things are on the horizon here at PCU,” Murdocco noted. “This is one important piece of a larger puzzle for us.”

PCU is one of the few member-owned institutions in the United States with an open charter and has been working to expand its membership by offering competitive share certificate rates and convenient mobile banking options. “We look forward to serving a growing number of PCU members nationwide,” Familant said.
