PSCU Magic Minute Loyalty Dash delivers huge haul for members, charity

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (December 17, 2013) —  Over a mere 10 minutes in a Chicago warehouse loaded with high-end merchandise, 10 members of PSCU Member-Owner credit unions harvested an eye-popping $100,000 worth of goods for winning the Credit Union Magic Minute Loyalty SweepstakesTM. In a related contest for “Best Credit Union Magic Moment” video, employees from PSCU, the sweepstakes sponsor, and ORNL Federal Credit Union grabbed another $20,000 worth of flat screens, tools, PlayStations, iMacs, home appliances and toys to donate to their community charities.

Sweepstakes winners were rewarded with an all-expense-paid trip for two to the Windy City, a stay at the historic Palmer House downtown and a place at the starting line of the Credit Union Magic Minute Loyalty Dash on December 5. The objective: push an oversized shopping cart through the aisles of a warehouse stacked with all manner of brand name products and load in as much merchandise as possible – in just 60 seconds.

The Credit Union Magic Minute Loyalty Sweepstakes was conceived and sponsored by PSCU as a way to give their Member-Owner Credit Unions a no-cost opportunity to reward 10 lucky members with the shopping thrill of a lifetime. PSCU provided print and digital marketing and public relations assets to help credit unions create awareness of the sweepstakes with their members and their communities. Members were encouraged to register their contact information on their credit union’s CURewards® loyalty program website. By using their credit unions’ credit or debit cards in a minimum of two transactions per week over the sweepstakes eligibility period, their names were automatically entered in a series of eight weekly drawings.

“The Magic Minute represents the soul of the credit union/member relationship, the feeling that good things happen to good people when they have mutual trust and loyalty,” said Suzanne LaProva, PSCU’s VP, Product Development. “This is why credit unions exist, to help their members prosper. And loyalty is a two-way street. Credit unions give back to the loyal members who support them.”

PSCU plans to make the Magic Minute Loyalty Sweepstakes an annual event and expects even more credit unions to register next year. The event will be open to all Member-Owner credit unions that use PSCU’s CURewards loyalty solutions. The expenses associated with the Magic Minute are covered entirely by PSCU; neither credit unions nor their members incur any costs through participation.
