PSCU Rolls Out Remote Deposit Capture to Member-Owners

Solution available as standalone app or integrated with mobile banking

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (August 26, 2013) — PSCU announced today the rollout of its Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) solution to its nearly 700 Member-Owner Credit Unions. The credit unions will be able to integrate the RDC solution in their existing electronic banking and mobile banking platforms, or deploy it as a separate standalone application in the member’s mobile device.

“Remote deposit capture gives our Member-Owners a digital technology tool to engage members at one of the most important transaction points in the relationship – the deposit,” said Fredda McDonald, EVP, Credit Union Experience at PSCU.

The flexibility of the RDC solution enables PSCU to offer its credit unions a holistic suite of check capture and deposit services to fit virtually any online or mobile banking configuration in place at the credit union. The solution will also support an interface to members’ home or office flatbed scanners.

Scott DePrat, E-Services Marketing Manager at America’s Christian Credit Union said, “Not only are we able to bring a service to our members that they have been requesting, but RDC functions as an extra touch point that helps satisfy a need. The ability to offer these services has now put a branch location as close as our members’ mobile phones or home scanners. We look forward to bringing this benefit to more members in the future.”

RDC provides credit unions that have small branch networks and a geographically dispersed membership with a convenient deposit channel for their members rather than just relying on ATMs or mail-in deposits.

“Digital technology is the key to enabling credit unions to build strong virtual relationships with their members,” said McDonald. “Remote deposit capture is one of those go anywhere, do-anything products that are becoming increasingly integral to serving non-local members and allow credit unions to operate on parity with institutions that maintain much larger branch networks.”

The broad scale rollout follows a successful pilot program that PSCU conducted with two of its Member-Owner Credit Unions. Of the over 61,000 members at both piloting credit unions, 570 found and used this service even before the credit unions began marketing the new service.
