Public Invited to Learn “Financial Do’s And Don’ts” During Educational Session

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) is partnering with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) and the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation to bring a series of quarterly town meetings concerning financial literacy. The second in the series, “Financial Do’s and Don’ts,” will take place on Friday, May 10. PCN will tape the educational session at 10:00 a.m. and air it statewide later that day beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The town meeting, which is free and open to the public, will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Mohler Center in Hershey. The center is located at 25 Hope Drive in Hershey.

Attendees will learn the financial “do’s and don’ts” when dealing with investments, reverse mortgages, estate and retirement planning as well as how to avoid scams. The panel which will lead the discussion includes Joseph Wambach, executive director of the PA Credit Union Foundation; Diana Roberts, CEO of the Hershey Federal Credit Union; David Shallcross, senior community liaison for the PA Office of Attorney General; Aimee Toth, Deputy Secretary for Securities in the PA Department of Banking and Securities and Mary Bach, consumer advocate.

This is the second of four quarterly town meetings on financial literacy sponsored in part by the PCUA and the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation that will air statewide on PCN. The first in this series, “Financial Management 101,” aired earlier this year.
