Qualstar Credit Union gives $2.3 million back to members
REDMOND, WA (January 29, 2015) — For the third year in a row, Qualstar Credit Union is putting money INTO their members’ accounts. Qualstar Members are receiving their Loyalty Bonuses today as a thank you for the integral part they play in the credit union’s ongoing success.
After another successful year of strong growth and income, Qualstar’s Board and Management elected to return over $2.3 Million in bonus dividends to members this month. Individual cash bonuses range from ten dollars to several thousand, with an average payout of $81. Qualstar held celebrations in their branches during the month of January to announce that members were once again receiving a Loyalty Bonus (pictures can be seen on Qualstar’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/QualstarCU)
Loyalty Bonuses are based on members’ involvement in the credit union during 2014 including their average deposit balances, average loan balances, the types of loans they have, as well as other services that help reduce expenses to the credit union including Home Banking, Mobile Banking, and eStatements.
Credit unions are cooperatives, so earnings are shared with members instead of stockholders. The Loyalty Bonus is one more benefit of their membership.
A letter announcing the Loyalty Bonus was mailed out to members January 15th. The bonuses were deposited to member accounts on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 and available to members at the start of business that day.
