Redwood Credit Union Re-Elects Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Members

RCU Volunteer Officials Named for Three-Year Terms, Officers Announced

SANTA ROSA, CA — Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently re-elected five Volunteer Officials for three-year terms from 2013 to 2016. Incumbents Rod Dole, Dave Imoto and Lisa Wittke Schaffner were re-elected to the Credit Union’s Board of Directors, and incumbents Martin Grove and Steve Sharpe were re-elected to RCU’s Supervisory Committee. RCU’s Board of Directors sets the Credit Union’s strategic direction and policies, and the Supervisory Committee oversees the audit function for the Credit Union. Because credit unions are not-for-profit cooperatives, RCU’s Board and Supervisory Committee members serve voluntarily and are elected by the membership.

Rod Dole is the retired Auditor/Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector for the County of Sonoma and is actively involved in the community, currently serving as co-chair for Ygrene, as a Trustee on CALTrust Board of Trustees, and on the President’s Advisory Board at Sonoma State University. Mr. Dole has served RCU as a Volunteer Official for RCU since 1978.

Dave Imoto has served as a Volunteer Official for Redwood Credit Union since 1989. He is a retired Marketing Engineer from PG&E, and a graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College and UC Berkeley. Active in the community, Mr. Imoto serves as a volunteer for Community Action Partnership, Tomorrows Leaders Today, Sonoma County Office of Education and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance with United Way. He currently is an instructor in the Accounting Department at Empire College.

Lisa Wittke Schaffner is Executive Director of the John Jordan Foundation, a non-profit supporting disadvantaged youths. Previously, she was CEO of the Sonoma County Alliance, and has held several local government offices, including two non-consecutive terms as Mayor of Healdsburg. Ms. Wittke Schaffner has degrees in Government and Journalism from California State University at Sacramento, and is currently serving on the Sonoma County Board of Education. She has been an RCU Volunteer Official since 2012.

Martin Grove has been a Volunteer Official with RCU since 2003, and is retired from State Compensation Insurance Fund. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Sonoma State University. Mr. Grove currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Sonoma County Volunteer Center.

Steve Sharpe has served on the RCU Supervisory Committee since 1992. He is owner of Sharpe Associates, a land use and planning consulting business in Santa Rosa. He formerly worked as an Administrative Analyst in the Sonoma County Administrator’s Office and was Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). He has a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Davis. Mr. Sharpe serves on the Board of Trustees for Bennett Valley Union School District and is currently President. He is active in the Bennett Valley Vision community program.

The Credit Union’s Officials have also selected their officers for the year as follows: Dave Imoto as Board Chair, Rod Dole as Board Vice Chair, Greg McGuirk as Board Secretary, Robert Eyler as Board Treasurer, Martin Grove as Supervisory Committee Chair, Steve Sharpe as Supervisory Committee Vice Chair, and David Gouin as Supervisory Committee Secretary.
