To celebrate International Credit Union Day Royal Credit Union (Royal) is looking to the community to share stories of hope by nominating those that inspire hope in the community. International Credit Union Day (ICU Day), which is on October 15 this year, is an international event put on by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) to raise awareness of what credit unions do to better the lives of Members as their financial partner. This year, the theme, Inspiring Hope for a Global Community, seemed very fitting.
In celebration of ICU Day Royal will be holding a contest at www.rcu.org/icuday which gives individuals the chance to nominate a person that inspires hope for them. “We want people to take this opportunity to shine a light on a person in their community that truly makes them feel hopeful. We could all use some inspiring and hopeful stories during the recent challenging times and our Young Professionals organization has planned and provided a great way to share those stories.” says Jennifer McHugh, vice president of community engagement at Royal.
The contest starts on October 5 and will run for one week until October 12. Nominations will be reviewed with multiple winners selected and announced on October 15. A prize of $25 will be awarded to the nominators, $50 to the nominees, and $100 will be donated to the non-profit of the nominee’s choosing. As extra incentive the first 100 people to submit a nomination will also receive a $10 gift card for participating.
