SalesCU equips Amplify and Explorers Credit Unions with sales and leadership excellence

Austin & Yankton, TX & SD (October 8, 2025) |

SalesCU, a leader in credit union sales training and leadership development, recently partnered with Amplify Credit Union and Explorers Credit Union to deliver customized training programs designed to strengthen sales culture, leadership, and member engagement.

On September 16–18, 2025, SalesCU President & CEO Nick Brown facilitated a Sales Intensive: Credit Union Sales Fundamentals workshop with Amplify Credit Union in Austin, Texas. This hybrid training brought together more than 75 participants, with a mix of in-person and virtual attendees. The sessions emphasized business product knowledge and fundamental sales skills, resulting in high engagement and immediate impact.

Highlights included strong peer-to-peer sharing between training sessions, laughter-filled discussions, and immediate application of skills. One branch manager shared that a team member applied the principles learned and successfully closed a product sale right after attending.

Feedback from Amplify Credit Union leaders was overwhelmingly positive:

  • “This training is exactly what we needed at Amplify Credit Union,” said Ashely Cunningham, Learning Content Specialist.
  • “The feedback we’ve received from our team regarding the training has been overwhelmingly positive! I am eagerly looking forward to the next session in November,” shared Jazmin Otero, VP of Retail Banking.
  • “We have received great feedback, and the team seems eager and excited to put it into action. I look forward to their growth and the session in November,” added Rachael Jaramillo, Director of Service Delivery.

Earlier in the month, September 9–18, 2025, SalesCU trainer Chris Hokom led the CU Sales Intensive that includes the Transformational Leadership program for Explorers Credit Union in Yankton, South Dakota. Over 30 participants took part in highly customized workshops that incorporated Explorers CU’s specific products and services as well as real, anonymized member credit reports for hands-on practice.

The result was an unprecedented engagement. “The best I’ve ever had in 35 years of credit union training,” said Hokom. Explorers CU’s leadership team, led by CEO April Tompkins, established clear expectations for staff prior to training, which fueled participation and impact. Success stories from the training were later highlighted in the South Dakota Credit Union League newsletter, showcasing how the skills learned translated directly into stronger member interactions.

SalesCU President Nick Brown expressed his excitement over the impact of both programs:
“What we saw at Amplify and Explorers is exactly what SalesCU is all about—credit union professionals leaning in, gaining confidence, and leaving ready to deliver more value to their members. It’s proof that when you invest in people, you see immediate results.”

SalesCU will continue its work with credit unions across the country throughout 2025, helping teams transform sales from a transaction into a service that deepens member relationships and drives sustainable growth.
